PROJECT 2: Final Model

A light texture has been applied to the skins of the vertical walls, allowing it to emphasise the porosity of the elements in this structure.

Vertical growing stems surround the bases that connect with the landform, serving to show the connection between nature and the structure.

The darker texture takes over the main platforms and bases to bring attention to them.

"Eliminating the artificial, bringing/pulling in the natural and allowing it to move its surroundings." 
The structure is almost completely open to allow nature to move in, the concept enforced in Kengo Kuma's designs. The structure is also able to interact with nature in this way, which is the concept of Alva Aalto.

The landform is constrained to show a close connection the structure has with the entire form and nature itself.

PROJECT 2: Textures

Chosen textures:

A light texture that relates easily to the molecular porosity in the skin of natural organisms.

An averagely shaded texture that portrays the roughness of natural substances.

A dark texture, with heavy shadows that expresses depth.

# 1 Combining:

 -  Kengo Kuma - Introduction of light through the skins porosity provides an integration into the environment

 -  Alva Aalto - Mimicking nature forms in the building assembly as a way to integrate with nature

 

The base is meant to mesh into the surrounding environment. The structure is open in several parts, allowing constant interaction with nature.

A shaft over the top introduces light into the structure, which then bounces along the structure, allowing light to inhibit the interior almost entirely.

Electroliquid concept:

The idea of light seeping through vertical skins and exasperating the space, trying to form together with nature.

 -Kengo Kuma - Reflection as a way to create infinite space and ambiguous boundaries and alters spatial awareness
 - Alva Aalto - Verticality of the elements stresses importance in the landscape

Electroliquid concept:
The idea of confined space in order to create a sense of reflection that alters space perception where vertical frames constrict the motion.

Electroliquid concept:
Light is introduced through a main shaft and bounces along the randomly placed walls, creating a sense of wide space despite constrained vertical planes.
