Before First Class: Three Images

During foundation studies last year, I was given a project whereby we had to play around with three dimensional space. I relied on the manipulation of paper forms in order to create this fluid moving structure, creating a sense of movement. The larger shapes, of plastic and foam core, helped further enforce this movement.  I feel this is my best piece of art by far as I was allowed to play to the expanse of my imagination, allowing my view of the project to be conveyed into reality.

The Origami House, designed by architect, Yasuhiro Yamashita conveys a deep sense of understanding from his cultural background and for his surroundings, his city. This piece is particularly inspiring as it not only serves the purpose of space maximization, utilizing every possible space to it fullest, it also serves an art form, varying largely from the conventional box shaped houses with pitched roofs.

An image of the ocean, taken from a cliff at the end of Manly Beach. It was last year that I ventured here with classmates from my foundation class. We decided to take a break after a while and that was when I took this photo, fully captivated by the gradients of blue through the ocean and how the cliff edge caressed it gently. It amazes me how much beauty nature holds and is still constantly overlooked by most people who rather focus on the grubby and insect populated side of it.
